Channel Islands Killer Whale Quest (on Zodiac Boat, bathroom available)

We have chosen this word to describe our trip, because of what is implied by the defintion. This trip is often not easy, and it's not for the faint of heart. But if we are successful, it's very rewarding. It's also misleading to simply call this "Killer Whale Watching." We do not see Killer Whales every time we go out. But our success rate when measured per trip is the highest in California: around 75% of our Quests do encounter Orcas.

In order to have the highest chance of success on our QUEST, we will have minimal distractions and maximum effort focused on our target species. This often means that our day will involve lots of searching, and sometimes not even stopping for "regular" whales and dolphins. 8 Hours seems like a long time, but it goes by very quickly especially if we become distracted by watching other animals. 

We have chosen to incentivize exploration with us by offering the following concession: if the QUEST does not see Killer Whales, you may return again for a future QUEST or equivalent 8 hour trip for a 50% discount. A voucher code will be emailed to you. (This voucher code is provided on a 1:1 basis for each full price ticket purchased. For example, you purchase a full priced ticket and don't see Killer Whales, a voucher code is emailed to you for a 50% discount on your next trip. When you redeem this voucher on your next trip and if again, sadly, you do not encounter Killer Whales, you do not get another 50% voucher.) Also, please read cancellation policy below regarding "no show" or last minute drop outs. 

Important notices:

-The QUEST is very much dependent upon good marine weather. It's possible that trips may be cancelled or rescheduled the night before if conditions are not in our favor. You will get a full refund of course.

-The Zodiac does have an electric toilet with privacy for those who will need it.

-This trip is for someone who might describe themselves as a "hard core whale watcher". It will be a long day. It will require mental and physical stamina. Children should not attend. If you have physical disabilities, recent injuries, or are obese this is not the boat trip for you. 

-The Zodiac is COLD. Please come prepared for harsh conditions. Do not dress for hiking. Dress for skiing or sledding. To experience the most enjoyment of the trip, you need to consider bringing the following items: 

1. Warm hat (fur is ideal)

2. Sunglasses (goggles even better)

3. Gloves and scarf

4. Insulated jacket and warm layers underneath, and double layers for pants

5. You might want to bring headphones to listen to music, because we will likely be doing a lot of traveling. 

Essentially, you will have a much better time if you are not cold in any way. And you will want to block the wind from hitting your body as much as possible by being very "covered up".

CANCELLATION POLICY: We only sell 6 tickets. From a financial perspective, there is little profit left if we do not sell all 6 spots. Therefore, you must understand that any cancellations that occur without notice within 24 hours of the departure time are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE to a future date. The only way you can get a full refund within 24 hours of departure time is if you or us find a replacement for your spot. A 50% refund is available if you give notice of your cancellation within 24 hours of departure.
