The dictionary defines "QUEST" as "a search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something", and "an adventurous expedition undertaken by a knight or knights to secure or achieve something".

Transient Killer Whales roam a vast range, from Baja California to Alaska. However, every winter and spring they can be counted on to visit Southern California. While here, they are observed socializing with other pods and feeding on dolphins, sea lions and even whales. It's a special opportunity to launch a QUEST in hopes of encountering these rare apex predators as they visit our backyard.

In order to have the highest chance of success on our QUEST, we will have minimal distractions and maximum effort focused on our target species. Also embedded in the nature of a QUEST is bringing hope and optimism against slim odds. For that reason, passengers should be prepared for the potential of disappointment; the success rate of trips targeting Killer Whales off California is not high.

However, we have chosen to incentivize exploration with us by offering the following concession: if the QUEST does not see Killer Whales, you may return again for a future QUEST or equivalent 8 hour trip for a 50% discount. A voucher code will be emailed to you. (This voucher code is provided on a 1:1 basis for each full price ticket purchased. For example, you purchase a full priced ticket and don't see Killer Whales. A voucher code is emailed to you for a 50% discount on your next trip. When you redeem this voucher on your next trip and if again, sadly, you do not encounter Killer Whales, you do not get another 50% voucher.) Also, please read cancellation policy below regarding "no show" or last minute drop outs.

Important notices:

-The QUEST is very much dependent upon good weather. It's possible that trips may be cancelled or rescheduled the night before if conditions are not in our favor. You will get a full refund of course.

-Our vessel does not have a formal restroom. However, we have a reasonable accommodation which involves a bucket and a privacy curtain that has been proven satisfactory.

-Do you get seasick? For those who are sensitive, the interior cabin could make some people nauseous, but 90% of the time it's not an issue. You can always sit outside and get fresh air if you're feeling uneasy.

-This trip is for someone who might describe themselves as a "hard core whale watcher". It will be a long day. It will require mental and physical stamina. Children should not attend. If you have physical disabilities, recent injuries, or are obese this is not the boat trip for you.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We only sell 5 tickets. From a financial perspective, there is very little profit left if we do not sell all 5 spots. Therefore, you must understand that any cancellations that occur within 24 hours of the departure time are NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE to a future date. The only way you can get a refund within 24 hours of departure time is if you or us find a replacement for your spot.

Please note: Taxes and Fees at checkout apply as a result of operating out of Channel Islands Harbor. 12% of the ticket price is required to be paid to the owner of the commercial dock, and 5% of the ticket price is to be paid to Ventura County.
